The body needs folate but can’t synthesize it on its own and as such, must be consumed from foods or dietary supplements. Lifestyle, diet and some medications and diseases can deplete the body’s folate supply. BioFolate™ contains L-5-methyltetrahydrofolate (L-5-MTHF), a methylated form of folate. Taking folate in the form of L-5-MTHF allows those with the MTHFR mutation a source of folate.

*Supports the healthy development (brain and spinal cord) of the fetus and helps reduce the risk of neural tube defects when taken daily at least three months prior to becoming pregnant and during early pregnancy.

Medicinal Ingredients: L-5-Methyltetrahydrofolate (1 mg) and Vitamin B12 (as Methylcobalamin) (2.8 mcg).

Non-Medicinal Ingredients: Microcrystalline cellulose, silicon dioxide, sodium stearyl fumarate, and hypromellose (capsule).

Adults (18 years and over including pregnant and breastfeeding women) – Take 1 capsule daily with food, or as directed by a qualified health care practitioner. Do not exceed daily dose unless instructed by a healthcare practitioner.

Cautions:
Folate supplementation can mask a vitamin B12 deficiency.
