Cinnamon (True/Ceylon) Flakes
Cinnamon (True/Ceylon) Flakes
Cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum) originates in Sri Lanka and is often referred to as "True" or "Ceylon" Cinnamon as it differs from the closely related Cassia Cinnamon that is commonly found on the shelves of grocery stores. True or Ceylon Cinnamon is more subtle, delicate and sweet than Cassia.
Cinnamon has a long history of use in Ayurveda where it's considered a warming herb that stimulates the heart yet cools the digestive system. Cinnamon also has a long history of use in Traditional Eastern and Western healing practices as it was widely traded throughout Asia and Europe by Arab spice traders many centuries ago.
