Paprika (Capsicum annuum) originates in South America and is made from the dried red fruits of the sweeter Capsicum annuum varieties. Paprika is on the sweeter side compared to most peppers, but there are spicier varietals. Paprika is most commonly known as a culinary herb, but also has a long history of use for its health supporting properties as well.
Paprika is generally between 300-800 HU and is not considered overly pungent.
